North Central Greenways
In conjunction with the North Central Greenways Plan, North Central PA Regional Planning and Development has launched a website that is designed as a tool to assist with the implementation of greenways and trails in the North Central Pa region. The main goal of the website is to serve as a clearinghouse for information. Act 167 - Stormwater Management
On July 20, 2010 the Elk County Board of Comissioners adopted Resolution No. 2010-07 The Stormwater Management Act 167 of 1978
Act 167 was adopted for the purpose of authorizing a comprehensive program of stormwater management designed to preserve and restore the flood carrying capacity of Commonwealth streams. It is also meant to preserve natural stormwater regimes and natural course, current and cross-sections of the waters of the Commonwealth; to protect and conserve groundwater and groundwater recharge areas and to encourage planning and management of stormwater runoff in each designated watershed within Elk County.
